8 challenges for safe working & the technologies to help solve them
As we are planning to resume our working life, businesses everywhere are undertaking risk assessments and putting procedures in place to ensure the safety of their employees and visitors.
There are many areas to be considered and challenges to be faced:
1 – Control Occupancy
2 – Social Distancing
3 – Access
4 – Manage Occupancy
5 – Cleaning
6 – Arrival Times
7 – Visitors
8 – One Way Flows
Any procedures put in place must be simple to manage and sustainable over the long term. The use of smart technologies can help make this reality and aid our safe return to work.

Staff can use the GoBright app or web portal to book a desk before leaving for work. Only ‘bookable’ desks can be chosen – those that are clean, not facing each other, and at the specified distance from others.
Impractical, small meetings rooms can be closed making them invisible to book, whilst larger rooms can have their maximum occupancy levels reduced as chairs are removed. Specific desks in open areas can be closed off to ensure workspaces are 1m apart.
Whole areas, floors or even buildings can be closed off with GoBright. Spaces that are not suitable due to social distancing rules can be made invisible on the booking system.
Use the analytics within GoBright to understand how staff are using the office on specific days/time periods, so that you can adjust workplace policies and rotas to enable safe staffing levels and social distancing.
Once a desk has been vacated, GoBright will illuminate the desk purple to notify the cleaner, so the space can be quickly sanitised before being made available again.
Stagger Arrival Times
A flexible choice of desk booking start times encourages staggered arrival of employees.
Visitors can pre-register in advance. They can sign in/out by scanning their personal QR code.
Create One Way Workflows
Once in the building staff and visitors can follow GoBright’s wayfinding function, reducing the chance of taking a wrong turn.
The GoBright system is perfectly designed to ensure that organisations are complying with all the government guidance on keeping their employees safe. One platform to easily solve the safe working challenges we face for our return to work.
